With a loan of DKK 2.4bn from the pension company PKA, Carlsberg Byen has found funding for the development of the next major phase of the district. The new buildings to be built in the next years will consist of residential units, commercial and retail sale as well as approx. 400 parking spaces in underground car parks. The entire construction project is expected to be approx. 125,000 square metres.
When Carlsberg Byen has been fully developed, the total floor area of the district will consist of approx. 600,000 square metres of mixed constructions where the old, preservation-worthy buildings are mixed with new buildings, including approx. 3,000 residential units, varied shopping life, cultural offers, restaurants, cafés, offices, liberal professions, sports facilities and institutions.
